Crossover Fees Due Tonight

Hello Everyone!

Tonight is the last meeting for the year and the last before this weekends Crossover Campout. If you are planning to join us during the weekend (and I hope you will), we need to receive your payment tonight. Here are the various options:

1/2 of a campsite for the weekend – $70.00
Crossover T-shirts – $10.00ea
Saturday Dinner – $5.00ea
There will be a signup sheet at the meeting.

Be sure to join us for this last bash of the year.

Crossover – Final Reminder

We are now 7 days from our crossover camping trip. If you have not confirmed with Felix your plans to attend the entire weekend or just the ceremony, you need to do so today. We have to purchase the books to hand out to each scout that is crossing over so if you do not RSVP, your scout will not get a book.

If you are attending, please make sure to have your son in his uniform for the morning ceremony. But, you should also bring a change of clothes so he can play afterwards.

2012 Crossover Campout

It is time for our annual Crossover Campout. We hope you will all join us for either part of all of the weekend!

When: May 18-20
Where: Fort Wilderness Campground, Walt Disney World
Who: All Cub Scouts and their families
What:
Overnight camping both Friday and Saturday night.
Each site can have two tents. If you would like to join us for camping, it is $70 per tent for the entire weekend. You will share your site with another scout family.

Crossover Ceremony Saturday morning.
The event begins with a Uniform Inspection at 9:00am sharp. Come and allow your scout to show off all of their hard work this year. We will then begin the Crossover Ceremony at 10:00am and give each scout the recognition for their work.

Potluck dinner Saturday evening.
After enjoying the campground and working up an appetite, joy us for dinner at 5:00pm. Dinner is $5 per person and advanced reservation are required. The Pack will bring the hamburgers and hot dogs and you will bring drink, desserts, or salads. Each Den will be assigned their area later.

Contest:
Don’t forget to get your T-Shirt design in by May 1st. Be the one to design this year’s shirt and wear it with pride. T-Shirts can be purchased in advance for $10 per shirt. Place your order today before it is too late.

Jetty Park Campout 2012

For those of you going, please be aware that the weather forecast shows 70% chance of rain. Please plan accordingly. You must arrive during the day as they do not allow anyone to enter the park after dark.

The reservation is under Pack 20. We are currently planning some fishing activities, sports activities, and ocean swimming. Bring your trunks, fishing gear, and your football/soccer balls.

Day Camp Essay: Theme "Why is important for me to go to Day Camp" This can be any reason, to have fun, learn, make new friends, etc. The winners will get a scholarship towards Day Camp. Amount will be determined at a later date and it will be paid when Scout complete the week. Essay is due May 1st.

Cross Over T-shirt: Theme this year for the cross-over will be "Outdoor Sports". The winning design will be featured in the event’s t-shirt. Dateline May 1st.

Jetty Park Campout

Parents,
We have scheduled our next campout for April 20th through the 22nd at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral. We did this same campout last year and everyone had a great time. This year we will be camping in their new Pack/Troop camping area along the inlet. The site does not have running water or electricity but running water and bathroom facilities are nearby. There is plenty to do such as vollyball, fishing and swimming as lifeguards are on duty during the day. You may even spot a submarine heading into the base.

Our rates for camping are $2/child/night and $3/adult/night. So a family of four can camp here for $20 for the whole weekend!!! We will need to get a head count to the campground one week prior to our arrival but I need preliminary count ASAP.

Blue and Gold Event

This Saturday the 25th, we will be having our annual Blue and Gold event. We will be saying good-bye to our Web II scouts as well as our Cubmaster Brian and welcoming our new Cubmaster Felix to the Pack. The event will start at 3:30pm with the ceremony in the Bosco hall, then will move into the social hall for cake judging and dinner. We have invited several troops to attend our event and receive their new scouts, so if you see anyone from another troop, please make them feel welcome.

As noted above we are having a cake contest as part of the ceremony. The cake contest is for cubs and their fathers. The theme for this year’s contest is sports. We have placed the rules and categories for this years contest on the website under pack resources documents and forms. We have had some really interesting cakes in the past and this year’s event will sure to bring out some very interesting cakes. So let your imagination run wild.

The pack will be providing chicken platters for the dinner but we are looking for the following from each den:

Tigers: drinks

Wolves: Snacks – chips, fruit, etc.

Bears: Snacks – veggies, cheese crackers etc.

Web I and II: Plates, cups, utensils

We usually have a lot of people attend this event so bring plenty to share.

We are looking for volunteers to help set up the church at 1:30. Please let Brian, Felix, or Kevin know if you can help out.

Scout Sunday–February 5th

The Scout Sunday service at Blessed Sacrament will be the noon mass on February 5th. It was originally scheduled for the 5:00 PM mass but was rescheduled for less interference with the Super Bowl.

On February 11th we will have our annual Pinewood Derby. The event will be held in the social hall and will begin at 9am. This year we will be setting up for the Pinewood on Friday the 10th and will have a pre-registration event from 6:30 till 8:00pm. You and your son can stop by and have your car registered and inspected and avoid the line on Saturday Morning. Cars that get registered on Friday night can’t be touched until the end of the Derby the next day.

We will have the scale available at the next couple of pack meetings for you to weigh your car.

Don’t forget that we will also be having our annual Chili Cook-off event. So bring you best bowl of sweet or hot chili for our judges to sample.
